While it never entirely lived up to that deliberately racy, controversy-stirring poster campaign , Gossip Girl got away with a lot for a CW show, particularly when it came to Chuck and Blair. It would have been a crime to waste the mind-blowing chemistry between Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick, after all. Thankfully, he went on to expand on both scenes. A pause here, as Chair shippers collectively regain their composure. As for the dildos, that was a discarded idea from the first season when Georgina Sparks Michelle Trachtenberg rolls into town to torment Serena from afar. Penn was really shocked.

Welcome to Reddit,
On today, a most special day, the year anniversary of the premiere of Gossip Girl , the good people over at Vulture posted an interview with cocreators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage and executive producer Joshua Safran about the plot lines and scenes that almost made it to the air—and friends, there are some real gems here. The best reveal of all, though, is when Safran casually hints at some too-OMG-for-The-CW sexytimes, saying, "I only regret things like not showing Chuck finger Blair and the dildos and other sexual stuff. And here I would like to make a note: After extensive googling and years of watching the show , I have no idea what "Xan's" is.

Isn't it just about a bunch of rich kids sleeping with each other and doing drugs? OK, yes, the best Gossip Girl sex scenes are iconic and should go down in TV history, but also, the show is about so much more than that. Which, OK, they did a lot of really awful things to each other, but they were always there when their friends needed them. And, all narrated by Kristen freaking Bell. Catch my drift, Charlie? There's a world in and of itself in the six seasons that are Gossip Girl.
